Systems Administrator - £35,000 to £40,000 + Car Package + Bonus Package

Due to the growth of the business an exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our IT operations team in a fast paced technology driven organisation.

The systems administrator will ensure that a high level of service is provided to the business, supporting business critical servers and infrastructure. Work closely with other IT teams to continually maintain and improve overall IT performance, as well as actively being involved in the introduction of new technologies.

Working primarily in a Microsoft environment the successful candidate will leverage a wide range of skills and will be comfortable in investigating and troubleshooting issues. Researching new tools and suggesting new solutions. Provide software and telephony support to all internal staff either via a remote connection or at the user's desk and Provide 3rd line / help desk support where required.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure internal servers, network devices and firewalls.
  • Pro-actively manage and maintain server, network and firewall systems
  • Administer and support core Microsoft and virtual technologies
  • Develop and implement Disaster recovery and contingency plans
  • Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
  • Interact with customers and staff at a technical level, as required.
  • Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies
  • Managing desktop / server / software deployments / rollouts
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2008/2012) /Desktop OS (Windows 7/10)
  • Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare/Microsoft HyperV/Virtual Server
  • Group Policy design and configuration
  • Microsoft IIS administration and configuration
  • Administration of Microsoft Exchange Severs
  • Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration
  • LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802.1Q trunks)



Essential Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in IT support
  • A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues
  • An excellent knowledge of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010/2013
  • Able to migrate and manage mass users into current versions of all operating systems
  • Manage PC Security and monitoring QMS
  • A strong commercial background in user support
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Must be organised and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
  • Must be a team player



Desirable Skills

  • SIP and ISDN knowledge
  • Understanding of SQL
  • Various phone system configuration, management and support
  • Awareness of information security good practice. PCI-DSS compliance
  • Change Management Process
  • Call Centre environment knowledge
